World Mental Health Awareness Month “MANOMAYA”

PG Department of Psychology has organised various programmes as a part of observing the World Mental Health Awareness Month “MANOMAYA”.The programs organized on 29th October are intra collegiate Quiz Competition and a session for faculties of the college. The Quiz Competition based on the topic Mental health was conducted on 29 October 2024 ,9:30 AM at seminar hall. A total of 28 students from various departments participated in the competition. The quiz was conducted in 2 different rounds to discover the winner. Inauguration of Tally Essential Comprehensive (Certificate Course)

As part of the certificate course offerings, PG Department of Commerce & Management Studies, Noble Women’s College, Manjeri initiated a Tally Essential Comprehensive course, providing Commerce & Management students with hands-on training in accounting and financial management software. The PG induction program for the new batch of students was held on 12/08/2024 at College Auditorium, commencing with a welcome speech by Mr. Abdul Latheef A. PARICHAY: Orientation Program for First-Year UG Students

The orientation program began promptly at 9:30 AM with a welcome address by Dr. S. Chitrakala, the FYUGP Coordinator. Dr. Chitrakala greeted the first-year undergraduate students and provided an outline of the day's events. She stressed the importance of the orientation in helping students adjust to college life and familiarize themselves with the academic opportunities available through the FYUGP scheme. FYUGP Inauguration 2024-25

The inauguration of the First-Year Undergraduate Program (FYUGP) for the academic year 2024-2025 at Noble Women’s College, Manjeri, was held on 1st July 2024. The event, conducted in three sessions, was designed to welcome and orient the new students, as well as to celebrate the beginning of their academic journey with a mix of formal addresses and cultural activities. An awareness program was organized by the Antinarcotic cell and NSS Unit of NWC on June 27th, Thursday, in connection with the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. Public Hearing for Banglamkunn- Ovungal Mini Bypass Development Project

On June 26, 2024, a Public Hearing was held at the Cherumundam Panchayat Conference Hall regarding the Banglamkunn- Ovungal Mini Bypass development project as a part of the Social Impact Assesment study conducted by PG Department of Sociology, Noble Women’s College, Manjeri. The meeting started at 11:00 AM and ended at 12:30 PM, with more than 50 local residents attending. Key officials present included Shamsudheen P., the Thahasildar, Sreelakshi KC , Assistant Engineer from the Public Works Department (PWD), the Overseer, Panchayat President Kalleri Mymoona, Anganwadi Worker, and Ward Members . The purpose of the public hearing was to discuss how the bypass project would affect the community of the project area. Sreelakshi KC began by outlining the agenda, stressing the project's importance for improving local infrastructure. Shamsudheen P. then presented details about the project, including plans for acquiring land, building the bypass, and the expected benefits for the area once it's finished. During the discussion, residents shared their concerns about the project. One major concern was that some families might have to move or lose their property because of where the bypass would go. /Read More

Environment Day Celebration 2024 - Department of Sociology

The Agricultural Research Centre, Anakkayam, a regional center for Malappuram district under Kerala Agricultural University, organized an Environmental Day celebration on 5th of June 2024 from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm. The event welcomed 33 students from the first BA and MA Sociology classes of Noble Women’s College Manjeri, who were invited to participate in the festivities. Dr. Abdussalam MP, head and assistant professor of the Department of Sociology, along with Miss Haritha CP, assistant professor from Noble Women’s College Manjeri, escorted the students to the Agricultural Research Centre for the program. The itinerary included a farm visit comprising activities such as plantation viewing and a grafting demonstration, providing students with hands-on experience in agricultural practices. Kerala Piravi Celebration 2023

On November 2nd, 2023, the Department of Sociology celebrated Kerala Piravi Day (November 1) with a distinctive approach by creating a model of Kerala at courtyard by using various parts of a coconut. This event not only marked the significance of Kerala’s foundation but also demonstrated creativity and cultural appreciation. The centerpiece of the event was a meticulously crafted model of the state of Kerala using 14 distinctive parts of a coconut. The talented students involved in the making of creative kerala mapping with coconut parts showcased their artistic and technical skills to represent the geographical features of the state. VISTOSA : Face Painting Competition

'VISTOSA',a face painting competition was conducted on 27 October 2023, Friday at 1:45 pm in the college courtyard by the PG Department of Psychology in connection with the Mental Health Awareness Month. The program was conducted with an aim of promoting the students’ talent of expressing themselves through their art. The theme of the competition was ' Mental Health is a Universal right '. A total of 15 pairs participated for the competition from various departments of the college. A group of judges evaluated the performance of the participants based on the depiction of theme, its presentation and the color pallet.The group of judges were Ms. Haritha CP, Mr Moideenkutty KK, Mr. Sharafudheen, Mrs Nuzla Thabassum Kattukandathil and Mr Jasim M. Inauguration of M.Sc Clinical Psychology

The PG Department of Psychology conducted INITIUM the inauguration of MSc Clinical Psychology on Tuesday, 19 September 2023 at 10:30 AM in the college auditorium. The inaugural ceremony commenced with the prayer by Liya thasni(3rd BSc Psychology) and the welcome note by Dr. Anupama SR (Head of Department, Psychology). Dr. U. Saidalavi (Principal, NWC) delivered the presidential address and keynote address was given by Er Ismail P (Secretary, NWC). The chief guest Dr Prajeesh Palanthara (Director, TRUST Centre for Mindful Living, Ernakulam) who is a true inspiration for the psychology aspirants. He officially inaugurated the programme MSc Clinical Psychology. Followed by the session “Navigating the Diverse Dimensions of Clinical Psychology". Around 160 students attended the session which was very informative and interactive. His session signified the need of qualified psychologist in today's world and the various opportunities in the field of clinical as well as non clinical psychology. Ms Aswani (Asst. Tech Talk on Become a Next Generation Software Professional

The PG Department of Computer Science in collaboration with Arion Infotech organised a Seminar on ‘Become a Next Generation Software Professional’ on 18th September 2023 at Computer Lab. The session commenced by silent prayer and the welcome speech delivered by Mr. Abdul Latheef A, Asst. Professor Department of Computer Science. The inaugural session is held by Mrs. Sakkeena K K, Head of Department of Computer Science at 01:30 pm. The session was enriched with presences of dignitaries and students of the Computer Science department. After the introduction session, the seminar with interactive session starts at 01:40 pm. Hindi Divas Celebration

The Department of Oriental Languages, NWC celebrated Hindi Divas with great enthusiasm, featuring a Hindi poem recitation competition that showcased our linguistic diversity. The event's success was attributed to dedicated faculty and students. Mr. Sharafudheen, from the Department of Malayalam, warmly welcomed everyone, emphasizing the importance of celebrating Hindi Divas. Mr. Madhusoodhanan, from the Department of Hindi, conducted the competition with passion and expertise, inspiring participants to excel. Dr. U Saidalvi, our Principal, graced the prize distribution ceremony, encouraging linguistic diversity in our society. Ms. Ridha of 1st semester BCA won the 1st prize, displaying remarkable Hindi proficiency, and Ms. Arya of 5th semester B. Com secured the 2nd prize, impressing with her recitation skills. Orientation Programme for CUET Coaching by AIFER

On the 13th of September 2023, Career Guidance and Placement cell of Noble Women's College in Manjeri hosted a CUET Coaching Orientation Program in association with AIFER Education. The program aimed to prepare students for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET), a crucial examination for admission to Central Universities across India. The event commenced with a moment of silent reflection and a warm welcome by Ms. Shaeza Mariyem. Distinguished addresses were delivered by Dr. Abdussalam M. P, Head of Sociology, and Dr. U. Vaikom Muhammed Basheer Day

The PG Department of English in collaboration with Oriental Languages commemorated Vaikom Muhammed Basheer Day. Various contests such as quiz competition and character demonstration were conducted for students. An astonishing number of students have participated in the quiz competition. There were 44 teams from both UG and PG. Sangeetha and Sumayya Farhana bagged first prize in the quiz competition. Character demonstration was the major attraction of the event. Young Innovators Programme (YIP)

YIP unit of NWC, on February 22, 2022, conducted an orientation session for introducing the Young Innovators Programme, the flagship of the Kerala Development & Innovation Strategic Council (K-DISK). The objective of the session was to identify the students with bright minds for solving real life problems, mentoring them, attaching them to research institutions/ partner institutions with scholarships for one year and help them build a career around the innovations, researching, re-discovering, incubating and accelerating the innovation. Dr. Lieutenant Commander CK Abdul Rabbi Nistar, the principal, NWC, inaugurated the programme, which was co-ordinated by Mr. Basheer, faculty member, department of English.
