The official inauguration of the Psychology Association ‘ASPERA2023-24', was held on March 22, 2024, at 10:30 AM in the college auditorium. Prayer led by the college prayer team opened the program. A hearty welcome was given to the dignitaries and guests by Dr. Anupama SR, Head of the Psychology Department. The inauguration was made even more significant by the participation of Dr. U. Saidalvi, Principal of Noble Women’s College, who inspired the students and stressed the value of psychology and mental health in today’s hectic environment during his presidential speech. The Psychology Association “APERA 2023-24” was officially inaugurated by Mr. Suni MS, Clinical psychologist at MES Medical College Perinthalmanna and an international member of the American Psychological Association.
The event was felicitated by Dr S Chitrakala, Head of the department of Commerce, Dr Abdussalam MP, Head of the Department of Sociology and Ms Sakkeena, Head of the department of Computer Science.
Also there were a prize distribution ceremony for students who excelled in face painting competition conducted by the Psychology department as a part of world mental health day observation.
Following the program’s opening session, Mr. Suni MS gave a thought-provoking and informative talk about taking case histories and applying cognitive behavioral therapy. He inspired the students to think like clinical psychologists in real-world scenarios during his lesson. Students gained insight into how to use their theoretical knowledge in real-world scenarios from the session.
With a passionate vote of gratitude, Psychology Association Secretary Fathima Minha K concluded the meeting and acknowledged everyone’s hard work.
