The inauguration of the First-Year Undergraduate Program (FYUGP) for the academic year 2024-2025 at Noble Women’s College, Manjeri, was held on 1st July 2024. The event, conducted in three sessions, was designed to welcome and orient the new students, as well as to celebrate the beginning of their academic journey with a mix of formal addresses and cultural activities.
The first session, starting at 10 am, was dedicated to familiarizing the newly admitted students and parents with the FYUGP. Dr. S. Chitrakala, the FYUGP Coordinator, led this session. Dr. Chitrakala provided an overview of the program, highlighting the academic structure, expectations, and the support available to students. This session aimed to ensure that the new students felt welcomed and well-informed about their curriculum and college life. The address also included insights from Dr. U. Saidalvi, the Principal, and various Heads of Departments (HoDs), who elaborated on the different academic programs offered.
At 12 pm, the second session featured the live streaming of the state-level inauguration of FYUGP. This significant event was inaugurated by Sri. Pinarayi Vijayan, the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Kerala. The live streaming allowed the newly admitted students, parents and faculty at Noble Women’s College to be part of the larger state-wide academic commencement. The Chief Minister's address was inspiring, emphasizing the importance of higher education and the role of students in shaping the future.
The third session commenced at 1 pm with the college-level inauguration. The session began with a welcome address by Dr. Anupama S.R., HoD of Psychology, followed by a presidential
address by Dr. U. Saidalvi, the Principal. The inaugural address was delivered by Smt. V.M. Subaida, Chairperson of Manjeri Municipality, and the keynote address was given by Er. Ismail.P, Secretary of the Governing Council NWC, provided further insights and encouragement to the new students followed with a felicitation by Ms. Shahma, Chairperson of NWC. The formal part of the inauguration concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Sakkeena KK, the PTA Secretary.
Following the official inauguration, the session transitioned to cultural activities organized by the NSS team and the Singers' Nest. These performances showcased the diverse talents of the students and added a vibrant and festive atmosphere to the event, marking a joyful start to the new academic year.
